OUR COMMUNITY
The NGFFL is committed to giving back more than it takes.
Through our leagues and tournaments, we are inspiring
and encouraging a commitment through players,
partnerships, and engagement.
National Giving Back
Our annual award honors the league that makes a difference off the field by giving back more than they take.
Nominees must demonstrate, through their civic involvement, how the quality of life in their community has been enhanced as a result of their engagement.
The award is given during the annual “Salute to Cities” at the Gay Bowl tournament and goes to the league that demonstrates outstanding commitment to their local community through service.
The winning league receives a $500 donation to a charity of their choice, on behalf of the NGFFL.
We were proud to award the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup
to the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association.
The CMSA combined the proceeds from this award along with funds raised at their annual Homecoming Event and gave $1,500 each to the Trevor Project and Broadway Youth Center of Chicago.

This year, the youth outreach efforts include three different scholarships for LGBT youth to make sports safer and more inclusive, and they hosted their 6th annual Youth Field Day for high school LGBT leaders.
For the 2020 holiday season, this group continued their commitment to helping those in need by partnering with Project Bread.
